Pankow Service
“Pankow Service” creates a simple way for locals in Pankow, Berlin to begin a dialogue about the future of their neighbourhood. The project tests new ways to approach the public, with the goal of making people aware of their own potentials, as well as those within their neighbourhood. During a three week period, locals were asked to fill in cards, similar to those found on notice boards in supermarkets, answering the questions “Ich suche” and “Ich biete” (“I am looking for” and “I am offering”). In this process many valuable stories and histories about the neighbourhood and the people that inhabit it emerged. The results of the work were exhibited at the HomeBase Festival in March 2012 and encouraged visitors to exchange real services and ideas. The ongoing project will continue to find ways to link people, ideas and services.
